RSID Feasibility Study & Visualization

In the wake of success the Johnson & Wales experienced following the arrival of its satellite campus in Charlotte NC, another Rhode Island institution had ideas of their own identity in the Queen City. The master plan concept will give RISD an identity of sustainability within the City of Charlotte while maintaining the urban character and density of the Rhode Island Campus, also synergies will created pedestrian connections to Charlottes new Cultural Center and Johnson & Wales University. The campus solution rose from the need of a phased campus that could offer leasable space to the community until RISD ‘grew’ into their campus. Taking queue from commercial office design, the prototype building’s layout is that of a flexible office space that can be modified to serve multiple functions.
